Stewart Brothers Drilling Company has been involved in deep mineral exploration and production drilling in the western United States since the 1950's. We have worked for eight drilling seasons in Nevada where our primary client has been Newmont Exploration Limited. Other clients in the gold field are High Desert, Uranerz, Cortez Gold Mines, Brex Exploration, and Getchell Mines. In Arizona, we have worked with BHP Copper, drilling and installing some situ leach wells. Near Casa Grande, Arizona we drilled several exploration holes for Asarco and the Bureau of Mines on their Santa Cruz In Situ Copper Mining Research Project. Recently we have been involved in a good amount of coal exploration drilling. We have worked for Lee Ranch Coal Co., Eddy Potash, Inc., and Mississippi Potash, all in New Mexico.

We have also been associated with companies interested in other kinds of mineral deposits as well. At Stewart Brothers we are especially focused on the drilling and completion techniques necessary to provide in situ leaching of various minerals. Our specialty is mud rotary drilling. Our truck-mounted Failing CF 2500's were built to our specifications with this purpose in mind. They are the best mud rotary rigs ever built for pursuing minerals at great depths. We have drilled in excess of a mile deep with them using 2 7/8 inch drill pipe and regularly drill below 3000 feet using 3 1/2 inch drill pipe. They are equipped with two 5 X 10 Gardner Denver mud pumps which give them a lot of flexibility. We own and operate six of these drills. They are equipped with portable mud systems of various sizes depending on the size and depth of the hole being drilled. Each of these systems can be fitted with shale shakers, desilters, or centrifuges depending on the needs of the project.
